    Alex Wright
    • Who: Finley (Telegram @Cullion)
      Where: https://www.facebook.com/ootbluecreations/
      Anthrocon Dealer's Den
      When: 07/07/2018
      What: Fursuit/ Fursuit Parts

I met Finley at AnthroCon while they were running a booth in the Dealer's Den. There were suiters attending the con in suits that Finley had made, and the tails they had on display were of good quality. We talked for a while about pricing a fullsuit, how long delivery dates were, how deep the queue was. At that point, I decided to commission a Full Digitigrade suit from them for $1600. Communication was great until December, at which basically all communication ceased.

The only reason that Finley responded here was because I had 2 emails:

I am open to marking this Beware as "resolved" if and when the refund has been processed on PayPal.

New information as of 7/1/2019. I was promised a refund (partial in June, the rest in July). Finley has not been in contact since those promises were made. I've attached the email conversation below, and you can see comments for more info.

At this point I'm forced to raise this to Beware status from it's current Caution status.

Seems the images for the emails are broken and display a 404 error, on my end at least!

Gehe, that's probably my fault. Should be fixed now.

I would love to know what has happened to the rest of the money.  He should have some left over, after he bought fur. I'm guessing he spent everything.

TBH I'm not even sure the Fur was bought.

Then he should be showing you receipts to prove that he bought fur. And if you don't want to be his client anymore, he should allow you to drop the commission -- not insist he's going to make the suit, anyway, because he spent money.  I wouldn't want to do business with him.

Their organization for commissions of this scale comes off as rather sloppy.
Suits are massive investments for both the Maker and the Commissioner, so to have the constant response of 'I forgot' and 'Are you this person?' just raises all sorts of concerns for me.

Them claiming to have purchased the materials already, in spite of having to fully remake a suit due to oversights just raises even more questions on their process with these sorts of transactions.

I hope you're able to get a refund soon.

this seems to be a common issue with the maker and it’s a wonder he’s still allowed to set up booths in cons. i purchased an artist’s liberty gatordog partial from him at furrydelphia nearly two years ago. i was given a first date for it to be finished in early 2018 (the con having been august 2017) which i was okay with. never got updates aside from the design which was done by his partner or friend or something.

whenever i try to contact him, unless i bring up wanting a refund or being forced to charge back, there is no response. when there is, it’s always with an excuse of being ill or having been busy with other projects (despite seeing no updates for any projects anywhere). often he puts down other commissioners by calling them childish or difficult, which at this point i’m assuming that means they just want some semblance of a suit and aren’t afraid to be a little pushy about it.

despite messaging him about twice a week, i have not heard back from him over telegram since november 2018, nor it seems has anyone else who has commissioned him.

I used email just to get ahold of him. And even then it seems to be touch and go. I'll be issuing an ultimatum likely before I bring it to court.

i was never given an email to contact him through. i was just given his telegram, and later was invited to the ootbc group (after being like hey what’s up? and he was like oh well if you’ve looking the group you’d know)

i’m thinking about using the telegram phone number and giving him a text at this point because besides that i’ve managed to track down his twitter and a few unused fa accounts

I made an account just to say, I've had this exact issue with this exact maker before, around this time last year. I wanted a suit done for a convention, and they kept delaying for whatever reason they felt like week after week, until i issued a paypal refund request.

they were not afraid to lie to paypal, and i took the screenshots of our conversations as proof, which i can give to you if you need it as evidence for yourself, assuming you can give me your telegram to send the images

Unfortunately I'm well past the PayPal refund request period for the invoice. Which is why this is all happening. The invoice was fully paid off in August 2018. So I don't see it helping much. I have had contact with Finley stating that a refund is forthcoming. I suppose I'll just have to wait and see if that's actually the case.

I also have been dealing with similar issues with this maker. I commissioned wings and a bird tail for a head I have from a different maker, and paid it off to FInley months ago. I was promised progress pics, but have not seen any. I have reached out to the maker multiple times, and met with no response. They don't even appear to be reading my Telegram messages. After seeing this thread, I contacted Paypal. This is getting crazy!

As a side note, during the time I was making payments, Finley didn't appear to be keeping track of how much I had paid. They even asked if I could send a bigger payment at the very end, and I reminded them that what I had just paid was all I owed, and that I was finished paying it off.

Super concerned, hearing that they lie to Paypal. I don't want to be cheated out of money!

    A quick update:

I was refunded $50, of $250 total, and that's it, from the maker. So I called Paypal, and my case was escalated to a claim. A response was given to Paypal from Finley, and though I am unsure of what was said, the case was decided in my favor and I was refunded the remaining $200.

I hope everyone else gets this sorted out too!

Unfortunately like I said above, I'm well past the date of being able to open a claim.

That was meant in general, not as a "just open a case" comment. You can try taking Finley to small claims court?

    Hey there,

I am also dealing with this "person". Paid my comission back in late 2017 in full ( $1475 ) and was promised a delivery by February 2018.

Sadly after a couple month excused were being made and only the head was delivered ( broken ). Which was then send back in for repairs on my cost.

After that communication basicly died for almost half a year, my messages were not read or replied to.

Later I was offered a full refund due to them having a new job. After that complete silence again and never heard a word again.

Last contact for me was 21st May 2019.

Their Facebook page, including all the "positive" reviews, has been deleted today 16th August 2019.

Here is their Furaffinity Accounts :

As I sit in germany, I contacted my lawyer, but sadly it is not feasible for me to try and go to court in the US otherwise I would have.

I know of 3 other persons, who I have contact with, who have also been scammed by this person.

i have been at him pretty hard for my refund ... i waited 3 years and nothing form him and keep pressing till he starts paying me back he also mentioned a new job later this month to pay me back and im waiting to see if this is true . he owes me a hefty 1.5 k usd .... but at least for me he lives a state away so i am able to take him to small claims court quite easily if he dose not follow though ....
